David Ivanchikov (he/him) is an Edmonton-based multimedia artist and leading bagel scholar. He is currently completing a BA, double majoring in Art & Design and Urban & Regional Planning at the University of Alberta.
David was forced into improv at a young age by his improv-loving mother. He continued improvising throughout his childhood and teen years, taking classes at Foote Theatre School. Upon beginning university, David found community at UIG, a club he would later direct as President Internal. David’s love for college improv was affirmed during a brief stint in Montreal, where, while studying at Concordia University, he, with the help of his friends, founded and served as president of the Concordia Improv club. Outside of Rapid Fire, David improvises with his friends under the troupe name Bonnie Doon Shopping Maul.
David famously and frequently proclaims, “Life is just one big improv scene.” This attitude is evidenced in his general goofy disposition and admiration for the spontaneous.
