We are Rapid Fire Theatre, and we are proud to be Edmonton’s premiere destination for improvised comedy!
From humble beginnings in the early 80’s to our 2023 dedicated home venue, we’ve spent decades proving that if you can dream it, we can make it up on the spot.
We are a community of improv leaders that provide frickin’ great experiences through engaging performances and transformative education.
What’s Happening at RFT?
We like to keep busy. With over 500 shows a year, we have your comedy needs covered every single week. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, a stagette, or just need a night out that doesn’t involve a streaming service, we are your one-stop shop for laughs.
Our stage is more diverse than ever, featuring:
- The Mainstage Season: Our flagship curated performances showcasing the best of the best
- Edmonton’s longest-running improv shows, including fan-favourites TheatreSports, Maestro and Chimprov
- Kidding Around: High-energy improv specifically designed for families and kids
- Holiday Smash Hits: Including the perennial favorite, The Blank Who Stole Christmas.
Festivals & Beyond
Beyond our weekly lineup, we are the force behind some of the biggest improv events in the country:
- Improvaganza: Our annual international comedy festival.
- BONFIRE: A celebration of daring, long-form improv experimentation.
- The Wildfire Festival: Alberta’s largest teen theatre program, nurturing the next generation of talent.
- The Edmonton Fringe: We remain the largest volume producer of shows at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival and a staple at Fringes across the country.
