Kirsten Rasmussen is an actor/writer/ comedian and peanut sauce enthusiast living in Toronto, Ontario. If you want to see Kirsten on your TV screen you can find her screaming her guts out in Band Ladies on Highball TV, and throwing curveballs in Slo Pitch Season 1 on Out TV. Her other credits include Schitt’s Creek, TallBoyz, BitPlayas, Odd Squad, The Beaverton, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Dino Dana and a tiny but dignified masked role in Mrs. America. Kirsten has written on The Snoopy Show for Apple Plus and This Hour Has 22 Minutes on CBC.
Kirsten has won three Canadian Comedy Awards for her work as a live comedian, and sketch director. She’s an alumna of The Second City Toronto’s Mainstage Company where she wrote and starred in three shows as well as starring in their hit feminist revue called She The People. Kirsten directs sketch for solo artists and groups in Toronto, most notably directing the Canadian Comedy Awarded Extravaganza Eleganza- an all Queer sketch revue, and the Toronto Sketchfest Patron Pick awarded show DeadParents Society. Kirsten’s own solo sketch shows Kirsten, Get Some Friends, and Full Time Idiot won the Toronto Sketchfest Patron Pick and Just For Laugh Montreal Sketchfest Best of Fest respectively.
Kirsten is also known for her webseries created with Danny Belair called Healing From Heartbreak which can be found on YouTube where she plays a middle aged man unable to get over his divorce, and her mustache is unforgettable!
Kirsten has toured this country, the one below, the high seas, down under and Germany performing sketch, improv, and stand- up.
Kirsten started her acting training in Edmonton Alberta where she attended the BFA in acting at the University of Alberta. But it was with Rapid Fire Theatre that her career truly started, the friends, memories and deep comedic schooling she received at Rapid Fire Theatre has shaped her path for many years to come.
