Mika Boutin is an amiskwaciwâskahikan-based playwright, director, intimacy coordinator, and now, Rapid Fire Theatre’s newest Front of House Manager! With a background in both theatre and hospitality, Mika is passionate about creating spaces that feel welcoming, exciting, and full of whimsy!
She has honed her people-first approach in some of the city’s most beloved workplaces, including Plaza Bowling Co., Kind Ice Cream, Rollers Roller Rink, and Bent Stick Brewing. She is always trying to bring a touch of joy and a commitment to community wherever she goes. In her (very rare) spare time, Mika enjoys dissecting movies, writing everything down, experimenting with clothing, playing with her band, and most importantly, spending time with her best pals!
As a theatre maker, Mika’s work on stage focuses on coming-of-age stories that live in between tenderness and chaos, exploring the ways communities come together, fall apart, and find one another again. As a director and intimacy coordinator, she strives for collaboration, care, and creative risk-taking, ensuring that both artistry and safety flourish side by side.
She is thrilled and so very grateful to be at Rapid Fire, where she gets to blend her love of live performance with her knack for hospitality, helping craft an environment where artists and audiences alike feel at home, and leave with a little more joy than they came in with!
