Stephen Kent performed with Rapid Fire Theatre from 2002 to 2005.

After leaving RFT in the summer of 2005, Stephen joined the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and acted in a number of shows across two seasons (2006 and 2008), including the title role in “The Liar”. In 2009 he headed to law school, articled at Bennett Jones LLP, worked in the professional regulatory sector as an investigator and lawyer, led a team of lawyers for an international legal services firm in the Philippines, and in January 2020 started as Country Director of Justice Base, a rule of law and human rights focused INGO based in Yangon, Myanmar.

Improv-wise, in 2012, he founded One Lions with Covy Holland and pianist Eric Nyland and they did improvised plays that made people laugh, cry and shake their heads in Calgary and at festivals across Canada.

What’s a favourite memory of RFT?

Doing (mostly? some?) killer shows with my best buds Julian Faid, Arlen Konapaki and Joe Vanderhelm. Also watching Mark and Bill get up to the most hilarious shenanigans in the “second half” and Chimprov.
